Do you get detentions at college?
At college, you won’t find yourself in the classic school-style detention—no after-hours chalkboard writing or sitting in silence watching the clock tick! However, attendance and behaviour are still taken seriously. Any absence from college affects your learning and can impact your achievement and progression to future courses. If your course director has concerns about your attendance or behaviour, they will contact you (and your parent or guardian if you’re under 18) to discuss your progress and any necessary steps to get you back on track. So while you might not be “kept in,” you are definitely kept accountable!
